OUR ARTISTIC DIRECTOR

With over 30 years in the Entertainment Industry as a SAG-AFTRA and Actors Equity Association performer and Coach, our Artistic Director Stephanie St. James offers courses for students looking to expand their skill set in the performing arts. Stephanie holds a BFA from the New School University in NYC and is a graduate of the American Musical and Dramatic Academy's Integrated Program for Musical Theater.

Stephanie has been seen internationally in such productions as Oprah Winfrey presents "The Color Purple (musical)," for which she was nominated in 2008 for the NAACP Theater Award for Best Supporting Female – Equity for her role as "Squeak." She received the 2010 San Francisco Broadway World Fan Award for Best Leading Actress in a Musical for her role as Mimi in Rent. In 2011 she was honored with the FREC Award by The Film Recording Entertainment Council in South Florida. A few of her other favorite projects include "Footloose First National Broadway Tour" in the role of "Rusty," European Tour of "Fame" in the role of Mabel, Gary Marshall's "Happy Days" in the role of "Lola," "Grease" in the role of "Frenchy," and "Portlandia" on IFC on the

First Feminist City Episode. 

 

She has over 30 years of experience performing on the world's stages and has even entertained the former

President of the United States, Barack Obama.

Stephanie has been seen as a panelist speaker for Facebook Inc., has been an invited Keynote Speaker for Meta and formerly served on Meta's  Small and Medium Business Council.

She has appeared on television networks NBC, CW, PBS, and IFC and is published in USA Today. 

​

Stephanie’s students have gone on to achieve incredible success, performing in world-renowned productions like Hamilton on Broadway, Evita in Puerto Rico, dancing in Mean Girls the Musical Movie, starring in commercials, enchanting audiences on Disney Cruise Line, and shining in regional theater, TV, and Film. Her dedication to nurturing talent and fostering a love for the arts has made her a beloved mentor.
