Berthoud School of Acting: Exciting Fall Session for Ages 12 - 17! Welcome to the Berthoud School of Acting's thrilling 7-week course designed for young stars ages 12-17! Get ready to embark on an unforgettable journey into the world of Acting and Musical Theatre. Our program promises not only to teach essential skills but also to ignite a passion for performance, culminating in a "mock audition". Your teen will learn from a seasoned pro who has performed in multiple Broadway Musical Tours, TV/Film and Commercials and will offer insight into professional world of acting and performing. Course Overview: Week 1: Orientation - Kick off the adventure with an engaging orientation session where students will meet their instructor and fellow performers. We'll set the stage for what's to come, introducing the exciting world of acting and musical theatre. Students will prepare in advance a short monologue or song to perform for their coach and fellow students in person or be asked to submit it via video before the first day of class. Weeks 2-6: Intensive Group Classes - Dive into the heart of acting and musical theatre with dynamic group classes. Each student will develop a fun monologue or musical theatre song to work on throughout the session and participate in warmups, improv, games and scenes. Techniques Covered: - Auditioning Skills: Learn the art of making a memorable first impression. - Character Development: Explore how to bring characters to life with authenticity. - Vocal Training: Master the skills needed to sing/act with confidence and clarity. - Stage Presence: Develop the ability to captivate an audience with every performance. - Performance Techniques: Gain insights into delivering powerful and compelling performances. - The Biz of Acting: Learn about Agents, Castings & Working Gigs. Week 7: Mock Auditions - Our final week will have a mock audition. Students will apply what they have learned in class to enter into the "mock audition" room. This course is more than just an introduction to acting and musical theatre; it's a chance for young performers to discover their potential, build confidence, and create lasting memories. Cancellation Policy
Berthoud School of Acting Policy At the Berthoud School of Acting, we are committed to providing a professional and productive learning environment for all our students. Please take note of our policies to ensure the best experience for everyone: 1. No Refunds for Missed Classes: - We do not offer refunds for missed classes. Each session is carefully planned to provide comprehensive training, and attendance is crucial for your progress. 2. Cancellation Policy: Group Classes: If you need to cancel the entire group class session, you must request to cancel a minimum of 7 days before the first class begins for your session. This allows us to adjust our schedule and offer the spot to another student. Cancellations made within less than 7 days will not be eligible for a refund or rescheduling. Missed classes are not refunded and cannot be made-up in a future session. Private Classes: 24 hour notice is required to reschedule a private class. Private class can be rescheduled ONE time. If you cancel your private class with less than 24 hour notice you will NOT be able to reschedule and will NOT receive a refund. ​ 3. Punctuality: - Students are expected to arrive on time for each class. If a student arrives more than 15 minutes late to a group class, they will not be allowed into the class. Punctuality is a skill required in professional acting environments and is important to maintain the flow and focus of the session. 4. Assignment Completion: - All students must complete their assignments in preparation for class and for the mock auditions at the end of the session. Assignments are designed to enhance your learning and ensure you are well-prepared for work in class and performances. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation with these policies.
